Bohnenviertel is one of the few parts of old Stuttgart that still feels like a pre-modern quarter. Its lanes grew up from the 14th century around small houses and gardens where poorer residents grew beans, giving the district its name.
Today it is a compact place for a wander, with artisan shops, small restaurants, and older street patterns that contrast with the rebuilt city around it.
