Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart

Stuttgart natural history museum split between fossils, dinosaurs, and modern biodiversity collections.

Stuttgart's State Museum of Natural History is split between two buildings in Rosenstein Park, giving it more range than the name suggests. The fossil collections are especially strong, with prehistoric animals from southwest Germany, while the modern displays cover biodiversity and the living world.

It is a good family stop and a useful change of pace from cars, palaces, and shopping streets. Because the museum sits in parkland, it also combines easily with a walk through the green northern side of the city.
