The parish church of St Peter and Paul was built between 1736 and 1742 by Josef Schmuzer and decorated by his son Franz Xaver Schmuzer and the fresco painter Matthäus Günther. Outside it is a modest white village church with a single onion-domed tower. Inside it opens into one of the most exuberant Rococo interiors in the Bavarian foothills, all swirling stucco, gilded altars, and ceiling frescoes of the church's patron saints in heaven.
The carved high altar is the work of local craftsmen and incorporates several earlier Gothic figures saved from the previous church on the site. Look up at the ceiling for the panoramic fresco of Christ's commission to Peter and Paul. Free admission, generally open daily outside service times.
