Neptunbrunnen is Berlin's grand Neptune Fountain, a busy bronze swirl of sea creatures, river figures, and imperial confidence near Alexanderplatz. Reinhold Begas designed it in the late 19th century, with Neptune sitting above nymphs, turtles, snakes, and other watery company.
The fountain is an easy stop between the Rotes Rathaus, Museum Island, and the TV Tower. It works best as a short pause in Mitte: look closely at the details, then keep walking.
