Neue Synagoge

Neue Synagoge is one of Berlin's most striking Jewish landmarks, built from 1859 to 1866 with a Moorish Revival facade and a gilded dome that still rises over Oranienburger Strasse. The building survived the Nazi period and wartime destruction only in part, and its restored front section now carries much of the story.

Visit for the architecture, but also for the reminder of the Jewish community that once shaped this part of Mitte.
