Arta's appeal is concentrated and specific: a celebrated medieval bridge, several of the most important Byzantine churches in mainland Greece, and the layered remains of ancient Ambracia and Ottoman-era mosques. Everything sits within a compact, walkable centre. Plan a half-day for the main sights, a full day if you also want the castle and the museums.
