MU Theatre is a small contemporary performance venue in Újbuda, best known for dance and experimental stage work. It is not one of Budapest's grand historic theatres, but that is the point: the programme is more local, current, and independent.
Check the schedule before crossing the river, since the venue only matters when something is on. For travellers interested in contemporary dance, it can be a good counterpoint to Budapest's more formal cultural institutions.
