The Rock Church is built into the natural cave system on the side of Gellert Hill, just above the Danube and close to the Gellert baths. The chapel was created in 1926, inspired by the grotto at Lourdes, and its rough stone interior makes it feel very different from Budapest's grander churches.
It is an easy stop while walking between the riverfront, Gellert Hill, and the thermal baths. The visit is short, but the setting is memorable.
