Anna Bath is Szeged's most atmospheric place to try the Hungarian habit of taking mineral water seriously. The bath house opened in 1896 as the city steam bath, and its downtown position beside Anna Spring makes it easy to combine with the Art Nouveau buildings and grand squares nearby.
Inside, the experience is more local than lavish: thermal pools, wellness areas, saunas, massage rooms, and the slow rhythm of regulars using the baths for health as much as pleasure. The architecture is half the reason to go, with old public-bath dignity rather than resort gloss. Bring a swimsuit, check current hours, and do not expect Budapest-scale theatre.
