Aghadoe is a small hilltop area northwest of Killarney with one of the easiest big views over the lakes, mountains, and town. The viewpoint is the quick reason to come, but the old church ruins, round tower remains, graveyard, and nearby Parkavonear Castle give the stop more texture than a simple photo pull-in.
It works well at the beginning or end of a Killarney day, especially when the light is low across Lough Leane. The ruins are modest, so do not expect a major archaeological site; come for the combination of view, atmosphere, and a quieter perspective on a landscape that can be busy around Muckross and Ross Castle.
