Porta Rudiae is one of Lecce's historic city gates, facing the road that once led toward ancient Rudiae. Its sculpted Baroque form makes it a more graceful entrance than a simple defensive opening, and it marks the western edge of the old centre.
Use it as a starting or finishing point for a Lecce walk. From here the city tightens into limestone lanes, churches, and palazzi, while the gate itself gives a last look at how Lecce staged its entrances as architecture.
