The compact pedestrianised centre of Canazei is a pleasant place to spend an hour between activities. The main street, Strada Roma, runs past the church of San Floriano with its small frescoed loggia and lines of traditional Ladin wooden houses, many with painted shutters and balconies of geraniums.
The tourist office on Piazza Marconi has hiking maps and lift passes. In the evening, the bars along Strada Roma fill up with skiers in winter and climbers in summer.
