Galleria Civica

City contemporary art gallery, in a frescoed palazzo on Via Belenzani

The Galleria Civica di Trento occupies the Palazzo delle Albere's former satellite space on Via Belenzani, a 16th-century palazzo with frescoed ceilings on the upper floor. It is the urban venue of the MART (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) network, whose main collection is at Rovereto, and runs a programme of changing exhibitions of Italian and international contemporary art.

The shows tend to be smaller-scale and more experimental than the Rovereto programmes, with a focus on living Trentino-based artists and on the relationship between contemporary practice and the Renaissance interiors. Free entry on the first Sunday of the month.
