Designed by H.P. Berlage and completed in 1903, this former stock exchange is the founding monument of modern Dutch architecture. The building's stripped-down brick exterior, with its rejection of historicism, was a direct rebuke to the ornate 19th-century styles of Cuypers. Now used as a concert and events venue.
