Park Angerenstein is one of Arnhem's calmer green spaces, an old estate landscape of mature trees, water, and winding paths on the city's east side. It lacks the grand name recognition of Sonsbeek, which is part of its appeal: locals come here for a walk, a run, or a pause beside the ponds rather than for a checklist sight.
For visitors, Angerenstein works best as a low-key break between the centre and Arnhem's eastern neighbourhoods. The park has enough variety for an unhurried hour, with shaded paths in summer and good colour in autumn. It is worth adding if you enjoy seeing the everyday green infrastructure that makes Dutch cities so liveable.
