Natuurbrug Zanderij Crailoo

A landscaped bridge crossing the Naarderweg, the railway, and a stretch of industrial land between Bussum and Hilversum, designed to reconnect the Spanderswoud and the Bussumerheide heath. Walkers and cyclists can use it; it doubles as a wildlife corridor.

You will not see much wildlife mid-crossing — that is the point — but the view across the heath at either end is wide and rewarding. It is best reached on foot or by bike from the trails of the Goois Natuurreservaat.

A story
When it opened in 2006, the Natuurbrug Zanderij Crailoo was the longest wildlife overpass in the world: 800 metres across a road, a railway, a sports complex, and a business park. Cameras have caught deer, badgers, foxes, and the occasional escaped domestic pig using it.
