Nieuwe Kerk is a seventeenth-century church in The Hague with a sober Dutch Protestant character and a calm setting near the old centre. Its architecture is more restrained than the city's palaces and museums, but that restraint is part of the appeal.
Today the building is also used for concerts and cultural events, so it is worth checking the programme as well as opening hours. Even from outside, it adds a useful historic stop to a walk through central The Hague.
