Fort bij Rhijnauwen is the largest fort of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie, set in a green belt east of Utrecht. The brick fortifications, earthworks, woods, and surrounding fields give a good sense of how the Dutch water-line defenses used landscape as part of their design.
