Vedalsfossen drops from the wild Hjølmadalen valley, where the canyon cuts deep into the Hardangervidda bedrock. The waterfall is partly visible from the narrow valley road, with the surrounding cliffs giving it a rougher, quieter feel than Eidfjord's busier viewpoints.
