Artmuza is a contemporary art museum and creative cluster on Vasilievsky Island, set in the former Muzdetal musical-instrument factory. The building now holds galleries, studios, design spaces, and small exhibition rooms rather than one formal museum route.
It is a good stop if you want a less imperial version of St Petersburg culture after the palaces and classical museums. The appeal is the mix of current Russian art, reused industrial space, and a neighbourhood setting away from the busiest tourist circuit.
