The Costa del Sol runs along the Mediterranean shore of Málaga province, a near-continuous strip of beaches, promenades, and resort towns backed by the Sierra Blanca. Cosmopolitan Málaga anchors it in the east with its museums and old town; glamorous Marbella and Puerto Banús draw the yacht set in the west; and family resorts like Torremolinos, Fuengirola, and Benalmádena fill the coast between. Nerja, to the east, keeps a more village feel.
