The former episcopal palace of Montehermoso, a 16th-century building at the top of the old town, is now a cultural centre programming contemporary art, performance, and feminist scholarship. Exhibitions are usually free; the building's central courtyard and old chapel are themselves worth a visit.
Adjacent to the centre is the city's preserved 16th-century aqueduct — a curiosity tucked away in the old town that visitors mostly miss.
