Playa de la Laja is a dark-sand beach on the southeastern edge of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its grey and brown-black sand, Atlantic swell, and open setting give it a rougher feel than the city's more sheltered urban beaches.
It is especially popular with surfers, but it also works for a walk when you want a quieter stretch of coast away from the centre.
