Muros

Small Galician fishing town on the Ría de Muros e Noia, with arcades and a working harbour.

Muros is a small fishing town on the Ría de Muros e Noia, one of the least developed of Galicia's Atlantic inlets. The bus ride from Santiago de Compostela is half the pleasure — it winds through green Galician countryside and then follows the coast of the ría from Noia.

The town has an attractive old quarter of arcaded streets and granite houses, a working harbour where you can watch the fishing boats come in, and a handful of simple seafood restaurants. Muros is a day trip rather than a destination in its own right, but it gives an honest taste of coastal Galicia away from the more visited towns.
