This 86-metre red-and-white tower in the Eriksberg district on the north bank of the Gota alv was designed by Ralph Erskine and built in 1989 as part of a housing exhibition. The observation deck near the top gives you the best panoramic view in Gothenburg -- the harbour, the shipyard cranes, Hisingen island, and on a clear day all the way out to the archipelago. There's a small bar at the top where you can sit with a drink and take it in.
The tower is a short walk from the Stenpiren ferry terminal. Check opening hours before you go, as they vary by season.
