Skanskaskrapan is one of Gothenburg's most recognisable modern landmarks, a red-and-white tower by the river that locals nicknamed "Läppstiftet" - the Lipstick. It is not subtle, but it gives the old port city a useful vertical marker near the business district and harbour approaches.
