Volvo Museum

Vintage cars, trucks, and marine engines from Gothenburg's iconic brand

Address Gotaverken, Arendal

No visit to Gothenburg would be complete without a trip to the Volvo Museum, housed in the old Arendal shipyard on Hisingen island. The collection traces the company from its 1927 founding through decades of engineering, with vintage cars, trucks, buses, marine engines, and aircraft engines all on display. Look for the original desk shared by founders Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larson, and the prototype models that never made it into production. The museum shop sells model cars and memorabilia. Allow a couple of hours, more if you are an automotive enthusiast.
