Gamla Vaster is the quiet old quarter west of Lilla Torg, a compact area of low houses, cobbled lanes, galleries, design shops, and small restaurants. It is not as showy as Malmöhus or as busy as the main squares, which is exactly the appeal.
Come here for a short wander between Lilla Torg and the castle. The streets reward slow walking, especially around the older houses and the small courtyards that still give this central part of Malmö a village-like feel.
