Sergels torg is Stockholm's busiest modern square, a hard-edged 1960s meeting place in the middle of Norrmalm. The black-and-white paving, sunken plaza, glass obelisk, and surrounding traffic make it feel very different from the old city, and recent work has made it a more comfortable place to pause while crossing central Stockholm.
