von der Linde Palace

von der Linde Palace is a Dutch Renaissance palace in Gamla Stan, built in 1633 for royal treasurer Erik Larsson von der Linde. Its brick facade and gables stand out among the older lanes near Stortorget.

The palace is mainly an exterior stop, but it is worth a look while walking Stockholm's old town. It is also linked to Rene Descartes, who is said to have lived here while tutoring Queen Kristina before his death in Stockholm.
