Dansmuseet occupies a handsome building on Gustav Adolfs torg, right in the center of Stockholm. It is one of the few museums in the world devoted entirely to the art of dance, covering everything from classical ballet and modern dance to traditional forms from Asia and Africa.
The collection includes costumes, set designs, masks, and video installations spanning centuries and continents. Temporary exhibitions often focus on a single choreographer or dance tradition. The museum also hosts workshops and performances in its intimate theater space.
