The Miller Arcade is Preston's last surviving Victorian shopping arcade — a triangular block of small independent shops behind a striking terracotta and faience facade, opened in 1899 in the same Edwardian Baroque style as the Bridge Tea Rooms in nearby Liverpool. The interior is tile-lined, with a central rotunda under a glass dome and an iron-railed gallery running around the upper floor.
Most of the units now host coffee shops, vintage clothing, and small specialist retailers. Even without buying anything, it is a five-minute architectural detour off Market Square.
