Brontë Parsonage Museum

Family home of the Brontë sisters, now a museum with manuscripts and moorland views

The house where Patrick Brontë raised his extraordinary family — Charlotte, Emily, Anne, and Branwell — sits at the top of Haworth's steep main street, looking out over the moors. Now a museum, it preserves the rooms where the sisters wrote their novels, along with manuscripts, personal effects, and the bleak churchyard beyond. Haworth is about 13 kilometres west of Bradford city centre and well worth the journey; the village itself, with its cobbled main street and moorland setting, adds to the atmosphere.
