Jericho Beach is a broad sandy beach on Vancouver's west side, with a crescent-shaped shore that creates a relatively sheltered swimming area. It is more family-oriented than some of the city's busier beaches, with picnic space, summer lifeguards, and room to spread out.
The beach is also a good place for windsurfing and dinghy sailing when conditions are right. Come late in the day if you want the easy version: sea air, mountain views, and a sunset over English Bay.
