Estadio Latinoamericano

Cuba's national baseball stadium, capacity 55,000, is the largest in the Caribbean and the home of the Industriales — Havana's beloved team whose blue-and-white colours you will see worn throughout the city. Baseball is Cuba's national obsession and watching a game at the Estadio is one of the most intensely local experiences available to visitors. The crowd is passionate, knowledgeable, and loud; the vendors sell beer and snacks; the atmosphere is nothing like a tourist attraction.

Tickets are sold at the gate for almost nothing — games are heavily subsidised as part of Cuban sports policy. The season runs roughly October to May. Matches are usually evening games on weekdays and afternoons at weekends. The stadium is in El Cerro, a short taxi ride from the centre.
