A small, partly hidden cove beach immediately south of Playa Los Muertos, on the road toward Mismaloya. Granite outcrops divide the shore into a series of small sandy pockets and pools. At low tide the tidepools fill with sea urchins, small fish and the curved snail shells (conchas chinas — "Chinese shells") that give the beach its name.
The setting is more dramatic than the in-town beaches: jungle-covered cliffs rise directly above, with luxury villas and a couple of boutique hotels stacked up the slope. Access is on foot via a stairway down from the main road, or along the sand from Los Muertos at low tide. There are no big palapa restaurants, just a couple of small bars — bring water and an umbrella.
