Iglesia Guadalupe sits away from León's busiest central blocks, which is part of its charm. The church makes a good extension to a walk through the colonial city, especially if you want to see more than the cathedral and the main plaza.
Its pale facade, simple massing, and neighbourhood setting give it a different feel from the grander churches closer to the centre. Go in daylight, combine it with a broader wander east of the plaza, and treat it as one stop in León's unusually rich church landscape.
