The Tiscapa Canopy Tour is a zip-line that runs across the Tiscapa volcanic crater lake at height, giving a bird's-eye view of the lagoon and the surrounding Managua skyline. The course has several cables and platforms and takes about 45 minutes to complete; it is suitable for beginners and not technically demanding, though the height is genuine.
It is not the most dramatic zip-line in Central America — the volcanic canopy tours near Masaya or in Costa Rica's cloud forests are more spectacular — but for a city-centre activity that costs relatively little and delivers a good view, it works well. The setting is inherently dramatic: the volcanic crater, the dark water below, and the city spreading out on all sides. The tour operators are at the entrance to the Tiscapa natural reserve.
