Lansing River Trail

A 20-mile paved path that follows the Grand River and Red Cedar River through the city — north from the Sycamore Creek confluence in the south, past Potter Park Zoo, through downtown, then east to the MSU campus and beyond. It is the easiest way to see Lansing without a car.

Locals walk and run it; tourists rent bikes from the City Market and roll the length of it in a couple of hours. The trail passes the Capitol, Impression 5, the Museum Drive cluster, and the Rotary Steam Clock. In autumn the river maples are spectacular.
