Moist Towelette Museum

A collection of more than 1,000 individually-wrapped moist towelettes, on display in the lobby of the MSU planetarium in East Lansing. Specimens come from airlines, restaurants, conferences, and political campaigns from every continent, organised by origin and intended use.

It is exactly as ridiculous and charming as it sounds. The museum is free and visible whenever the planetarium is open. You can also add to the collection — donations are encouraged.

A story
The museum was founded in 2001 by John French, an MSU planetarium employee, after he received an absurdly elaborate towelette with a meal on an airline. His collection passed a thousand examples within five years. A used one from the hosts of NPR's Car Talk is among the prizes.
