Joslyn Castle is a 35-room stone mansion built at the start of the 20th century for George and Sarah Joslyn, whose newspaper fortune helped shape Omaha's civic life. Its Scottish Baronial massing, carved wood, stained glass, and landscaped grounds make it one of the city's most distinctive domestic buildings.
The castle works best on a guided tour, where the architecture and family story are easier to read. It pairs naturally with the Joslyn Art Museum, but the mood is different: more private ambition, less public institution.
