Mormon Trail Center at Historic Winter Quarters

A visitor center interpreting the Latter-day Saint migration and the Winter Quarters settlement in north Omaha.

The Mormon Trail Center at Historic Winter Quarters tells one of Omaha's most important migration stories. The area served as a major temporary settlement for Latter-day Saint pioneers moving west in the 1840s, and the visitor center uses exhibits and reconstructed settings to explain the hardships and logistics of that journey.

It is especially useful if you are interested in overland trails, religious history, or the settlement of the Great Plains. The nearby cemetery and temple grounds add context, making this more than a standalone museum visit.
