Marblehead Lighthouse stands on a rocky point east of Sandusky, looking out over Lake Erie toward Cedar Point and the islands. It is one of the lake's classic landmarks, with a small keeper's house museum and wide-open views across the water.
When the tower is open, the climb is the reason to come. Even from the grounds, it makes a good short detour if you are exploring the lake shore rather than spending the whole day inside Cedar Point.
