Northgate Peaks Trail is a quieter Zion hike on the Kolob Terrace side of the park, far from the shuttle crowds in Zion Canyon. The route crosses high-country forest and open meadows toward views of the twin Northgate Peaks and the surrounding sandstone terrain.
It is relatively gentle by Zion standards, but the setting is more remote and seasonal than the canyon floor. Check road and weather conditions, especially outside summer, and bring enough water because services are limited along Kolob Terrace Road.
