Ozette is one of Olympic National Park's great remote corners, tucked near the northwestern coast at the end of a long approach road. From Lake Ozette, boardwalk trails cross wet forest and cedar bog before reaching the Pacific, where sea stacks, driftwood, tide pools, and long empty beaches replace the rainforest interior.
The classic Ozette Triangle links Cape Alava and Sand Point, making a full-day loop with a rugged beach walk between them. Time the coastal section with the tide tables and keep an eye out for the Makah petroglyphs at Wedding Rocks, one of the most memorable cultural stops in the park.
