Córdoba city is the jumping-off point for the sierras, and the walking is regulated: the province keeps a register of adventure-tourism guides, the first of its kind in Argentina. Trekking agencies in the city run day trips and longer walks to the Quebrada del Condorito, Los Gigantes and Champaquí.
