The Zona Rosa, centred on Carrera 11–15 and Calles 80–86 in the Chapinero locality, is where affluent Bogotanos go out. The streets are lined with restaurants, cocktail bars, and clubs, and the area feels noticeably safer and better-maintained than the historic centre. It is also noticeably more expensive.
The heart of the action is the Zona T, a pedestrianised T-shaped block between Carreras 12A and 13 and Calles 82–83, flanked by restaurants with outdoor tables and the kind of bars that stay open until 4am. Just south, the Parque de la 93 offers a more relaxed alternative — a large park ringed by restaurants and cafes that stays busy on weekend afternoons. The zone is best visited at night; by day it is a fairly ordinary commercial district.
