Guyana's taxis are almost all unmetered, which makes this the exception worth knowing: a GPS-dispatched app run by the operators of Yellow Cab of DC, with a published tariff.
Five hundred Guyana dollars for the first kilometre and 200 for each one after, rising to 600 and 225 in the weekday rush hours; 2,500 an hour for hire; 150 for each five minutes of waiting - and both harbour bridge tolls absorbed rather than added at the end.
Long-distance and group trips are fixed-price on request through the dispatch line. The WhatsApp number is labelled "Text/WhatsApp" and is separate from dispatch.
