The largest modern shopping mall in Guyana, Giftland sits on the eastern edge of Georgetown near the seawall in Turkeyen. Three storeys of shops, a cinema, a food court, and a few decent restaurants. It is the place to come for international brand goods, electronics, and air-conditioned wandering when the heat outside becomes too much.
Not a sight in itself, but useful as a one-stop shop and a glimpse of how the oil boom is reshaping middle-class Georgetown. The cinema shows current international releases.
