Parc du Belvédère is the great green lung of Tunis, laid out on a hill north of the centre. Its paths, pines, and viewpoints offer a welcome change from the density of the medina and the traffic of the modern city.
The park is best for a daytime walk, especially if you want to see a more relaxed side of Tunisian urban life. From higher points the city spreads out below, giving a useful sense of how the medina, colonial boulevards, and newer districts fit together.
